2013 HEAVEN CAN WAIT CHARITY SAILING REGATTA RAISES $39,000 IN SUPPORT OF THE HCW CHARITIES
The 2013 Heaven Can Wait Charity Sailing Regatta was once again, an outstanding success in both fund raising efforts and participation. Funds raised totaled $39,000, $35,000 of which went to the Hunter Branch of the NSW Cancer Council's Domestic Support Program with the balance of $5,000 going to Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie for their on water support during the event. WHAT IS THE HEAVEN CAN WAIT CHARITY REGATTA?
The Heaven Can Wait 24 hour race was conceived and inaugurated by Lake Macquarie resident, keen sailor and cancer survivor Shaun Lewicki as a major annual sailing event on the lake, to promote sailing, the Lake Macquarie/Newcastle/Hunter region – and to raise funds for cancer research.
