NOTICE OF RACE ISSUED FOR 2015 HEAVEN CAN WAIT CHARITY SAILING REGATTA
The Notice Of Race (NOR) for the next - 2015, Heaven Can Wait Charity Sailing Regatta has been issued and can be viewed by clicking here . The Regatta will be held over the weekend of February 21-22, 2015. It is expected that some 100 boats will be entered in what will be the ninth year of running the event. The traditional pre-race fund raising dinner will be held at the RMYC on Friday February 20th.
DATES FOR THE NEXT HEAVEN CAN WAIT CHARITY SAILING REGATTA ANNOUNCED
The next Heaven Can Wait Charity Sailing Regatta will be held on the weekend of February 21-22, 2015 and will, be part of a much larger aquatic festival on Lake Macquarie, to be called Lakefest. Details are still being firmed up, but it is expected that the week will start with the Heaven Can Wait Charity Regatta organised and run out of the RMYC Toronto, to be followed mid week with a two day non spinnaker regatta to be organised and run out of the Lake Macquarie Yacht Club. An interclub Friday Twilight is planned for the end of the week followed by an interclub R K Robertson Series race catering for spinnaker and non-spinnaker boats on the Saturday. Other aquatic events are being planned for the week and details will be announced as soon as they confirmed. A new website is planned to promote Lakefest and again, details will be announced as soon as it is up and running.
WHAT IS THE HEAVEN CAN WAIT CHARITY REGATTA?
The Heaven Can Wait 24 hour race was conceived and inaugurated by Lake Macquarie resident, keen sailor and cancer survivor Shaun Lewicki as a major annual sailing event on the lake, to promote sailing, the Lake Macquarie/Newcastle/Hunter region – and to raise funds for cancer research.
